Description
Led Zeppelin III 1970 vinyl LP on Atlantic Records, SD 7201, representing one of the band’s most distinctive original album packages and one of the most adventurous records of its early catalog.
Released in 1970, Led Zeppelin III moved beyond the heavy blues-rock sound of the band’s first two albums by incorporating acoustic and folk influences alongside some formidable electric performances. Highlights include “Immigrant Song,” “Since I’ve Been Loving You,” “Gallows Pole,” “Tangerine,” and “That’s the Way.”
This copy is an original U.S. Presswell pressing, identified by the PR label matrices and corresponding runout markings. The deadwax carries Mastercraft mastering along with the celebrated inscriptions “So Mote Be It” on Side A and “Do What Thou Wilt” on Side B.
The vinyl grades VG++ approaching NM- and has been fully play tested. Playback is excellent, with only faint surface noise audible during some quieter passages.
The original die-cut gatefold jacket grades VG+. Its distinctive rotating wheel is present, complete and functional. The original center grommet is missing, but the wheel remains in place and rotates properly. Photographs show the wheel in multiple positions and removed from the jacket.
