Description

George Benson Benson Burner vinyl is a 1976 Columbia double-LP collection showcasing Benson’s earlier work as one of jazz’s most distinctive guitarists.

Long before his crossover success made him equally famous as a vocalist, Benson had already established formidable jazz credentials. Benson Burner gathers previously released material from that earlier period, placing his guitar playing squarely at the center of the collection.

Across 27 tracks and four sides, the set includes “Willow Weep for Me,” “Hammond’s Bossa Nova,” “Bayou,” “The Cooker,” “Benson’s Rider,” “Myna Bird Blues,” “Jaguar,” “Bright Eyes” and more. The gatefold also contains extensive liner notes discussing Benson’s early recordings, influences and musicianship.

This is an exceptionally clean personal-collection copy. Both records grade Near Mint with beautiful glossy surfaces and minimal evidence of handling. More importantly, all four sides have been fully play tested and deliver excellent NM playback.

The gatefold cover grades VG++ / NM-, retaining excellent color and presentation with only light age and storage wear. Generic inner sleeves are included.
