Description

Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon (1975) vinyl is offered here as an unusually desirable complete vintage U.S. package, including both original posters and both original stickers.

Released on Harvest Records as SMAS-11163, this copy has the later Capitol-family “All Rights Reserved…” rim text associated with the 1975 pressing period and was manufactured at Capitol’s Jacksonville plant.

The mastering details make the copy particularly interesting. Side A carries KP, identifying a Ken Perry lacquer cut, while Side B uses a Gene Thompson lacquer. Both sides carry the stamped MASTERED BY CAPITOL inscription.

The vinyl grades a strong VG++. It retains beautiful gloss and plays very well throughout. Some surface noise can be heard during the album’s quieter passages, so it has not been overgraded.

The original gatefold cover grades VG to VG+. The predominantly black exterior naturally reveals its years, with visible rubbing, scuffing, shelf wear and edge/corner wear. A previous owner’s name is written discreetly in the rainbow area of the front artwork. The gatefold remains structurally solid and the interior presents nicely.

What makes this example stand apart is its completeness.

Both original Pink Floyd posters are included, along with both original stickers. All four inserts grade Near Mint and present beautifully.

A generic inner sleeve is included.

Matrix / Runout – Side A: SMAS 1 11163 F46 #2 KP MASTERED BY CAPITOL 0
Matrix / Runout – Side B: SMAS-2-11163 F41 #5 MASTERED BY CAPITOL 0

More than fifty years after its original release, The Dark Side of the Moon remains one of rock’s defining albums, moving seamlessly through “Breathe,” “Time,” “The Great Gig in the Sky,” “Money,” “Us and Them,” “Brain Damage” and “Eclipse.”

And after that final heartbeat:

“There is no dark side of the moon, really. Matter of fact, it’s all dark.”

A wonderful opportunity to own a complete 1975 U.S. pressing with all four inserts intact.
