Description
The Rolling Stones – Goats Head Soup – 1973 U.S. Presswell Vinyl LP
Goats Head Soup is The Rolling Stones’ 1973 follow-up to Exile on Main St., capturing the band moving from the loose, roots-heavy sound of its predecessor toward a darker and at times more polished mixture of rock, blues, soul and funk.
This vintage U.S. copy was pressed by Presswell Records Manufacturing Company and issued by Rolling Stones Records as COC 59101. The runouts include the Atlantic Studios AT marking on Side A and the PR Presswell identifier on Side B.
Most importantly for collectors, this is a complete copy.
Along with the original gatefold jacket, the album retains its printed photo and credits inner sleeve and the distinctive 12″ × 12″ cardstock goat-head insert. These original components are often separated from vintage copies over the decades, making a clean complete example considerably more desirable.

One of the album’s defining moments is “Angie,” but Goats Head Soup runs considerably deeper than its famous ballad. “Coming Down Again,” “Heartbreaker,” “Winter” and “Star Star” show several very different sides of the Stones during one of their most productive periods.
For a Rolling Stones collection, the combination of a 1973 U.S. Presswell pressing, strong VG++ playback and surviving original inserts makes this an especially appealing vintage copy.
Every pre-owned vinyl record sold by JAS Limited is visually inspected and, where noted, play-tested. The record pictured is the actual copy offered for sale.
