Description
The Cars The Cars 1978 Specialty pressing of the band’s landmark debut album on Elektra Records, featuring “Just What I Needed,” “My Best Friend’s Girl,” “Good Times Roll,” “Moving in Stereo” and “You’re All I’ve Got Tonight.”
This is an exceptionally clean example of the original 1978 U.S. issue. The SP designation identifies the Specialty Records Corporation pressing, with the Specialty SRC logo appearing in both runouts.
Even better for collectors, both sides are marked STERLING and RTB. The RTB inscription identifies producer Roy Thomas Baker’s involvement during the lacquer-cutting quality-assurance process.
The record is stunning. We conservatively grade the vinyl NM, although visually and sonically it presents closer to NM+. Playback is exceptionally clean and quiet.
The cover grades VG++ to NM-, showing only very minor handling/storage wear. The original photo-collage and lyric inner sleeve is included and grades VG+.
